MUTEK

February is quickly proving to be a busy time of year. We already have our first event under our belts. The MUTEK showcase at Montreal's Igloofest this past January was a resounding success, with over 2000 warmly dressed attendants braving sub-zero temperatures to catch hot live sets by Abe Duque, Lee Curtiss, and Pheek, as well as stellar bookending DJ set by Derek Plaslaiko.

The next few months are looking just as good. This weekend, we have a co-presentation with the organizers of Les Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois, featuring the "5MM" project, ERNESTO FERREYRA, and AKUFEN. Come March, we're looking forward to the sure-to-be-spectacular Nuit Electronik, featuring RICARDO VILLALOBOS, DANDY JACK, and a rare live set by the pair as Ric Y Martin. And, in April, we join forces with our friends at Yamaha to present a Canadian launch and live demonstration of the new TENORI-ON live performance instrument, with none other than POLE, ROBERT LIPPOK, and SUTEKH headlining a cavalry of producers ready to put the new wonder tool to good use.

As could be expected, we're still deep into assembling the upcoming 9th edition of the Montreal MUTEK Festival, which will take place from MAY 28TH TO JUNE 1ST this year. The festival line-up is steadily taking shape. The main dates to mark in your calendar leading to the festival are:
- March 18: we'll announce this year's headliners and put festival passports on sale.
- April 15: full line-up will be made public, and individual tickets will be made available for events.
- May 13: press conference in Montreal and full festival program confirmation, with full panels and workshops details.
