Intro: Floppy is an electronic project of the hungarian musician András Kátai. To make music by an experimental way using electronic sounds and samples is the aim of Floppy. So there are soft ambient and hypnotic tracks and also noisy tribal beat-oriented tracks in harmony in the universe of Floppy. Most of the songs are played live, often without any sequencers. It is one of the most important things in Floppy's music to hear and feel the process of making music. Bio: I started making music at the age of 13. My grandmother bought a small keyboard (that I still have and play with). I was interested in electronic music from the begin if the 80s (Depeche Mode, Erasure, Anne Clark...) In the early 90s I played keyboards in some electronic/EBM projects - these were my first steps on stage. In the middle 90s I played in an Industrial/Metal-project called "Endzeit". We had some gigs, supported "Rammstein" at a time, where their big career just began, we supported "Think About Mutation" and played in different cities in the eastern part of Germany and in Hungary. After the split of "Endzeit" I started to make my own songs (what I did all the time) even more important for me. So I decided to create "Floppy" as the project, where I can use and make things for my own. It was in 1997. I had different gigs in different cities and situations, so I played at techno-parties (this year I will have my third live-act at the SonneMondUndSterne-Festival in Saalburg/Germany), in some radio-sessions (interviews and 2 times at "Klirrfaktor" - a radio session at the InternationalStudentWeeksIlmenau, where electronic music is played with different people together the whole night long) and live concerts (for instance in collaboration with Kurt Kreft/kugkmusique) in different cities in Germany.
